Currently, Ahmad Al-Khatib serves as the Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Amman, overseeing diplomatic and consular affairs within his jurisdiction. In this role, he works closely with Afghan community members, Jordan authorities, and relevant institutions to ensure effective consular services, strengthen bilateral engagement, and uphold the dignity and representation of Afghanistan in Jordan.
2023 – Present
The Consulate General in Amman serves Afghan nationals living across the western regions of Amman. Under Mr. Ashrafi’s leadership, the mission works to protect the rights of Afghan citizens, support their needs, and contribute to productive diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
